Coronation Street spoilers: 'I hope not' Kym Marsh drops Michelle Connor death bombshell

Coronation Street viewers certainly have a lot of change coming their way.

The Underworld factory collapse has been teased for some time now, and its dramatic effects on Weatherfield are sure to ripple throughout the show.

This will supposedly usher in the brand new super villain of the ITV soap.

However there is also going to be some cast changes as Michelle Connor (played by Kym Marsh) has been announced to be leaving the show.

Michelle has been on the street for 13 years, and has had a tough year in particular.

Last year saw her get married to Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill).

But it wasn’t the white wedding she had hoped for, as Michelle was tragically shot by the dastardly Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).

Thankfully, Michelle made it out alive – but her new storyline will see her leave the cobbles for some time.

Michelle actor Kim appeared on Loose Women this morning to discuss her final stint on the show.

She began by reminiscing with the panel, saying: “13 years – it has flown by!

“I have had such a wonderful time and I have made friends for life.

“But it is time for me take a little break, stretch my wings and scratch a few itches.”

When host Ruth Langsford pressed Michelle on whether she would be returning, Kym ambiguously replied: “Well, I’ve said I’m taking a break.

“It’s hard being there for 13 years and not having a break.”

But on whether Michelle would be killed off before she left the show, she yelped: “I hope not!”

She recently wrote a column in OK! Magazine, in which she spoke about the real reason she is leaving the soap.

She explained: “There were reports that I was going to appear in the next series of Strictly or I’m A Celeb… As wonderful as those shows are, I’m not leaving Corrie after thirteen years to do reality TV.

“Another big factor in my decision to take a break from Corrie is the impending arrival of my grandson.

“I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with him and Emilie after he’s born this summer.”

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
