Antonio Brown NFL trade rumors: Jets to compete with Raiders for wide receiver

Teams that are still in the hunt for the 30-year-old include the Oakland Raiders, the Washington Redskins, the Tennessee Titans and most recently the Jets.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the Denver Broncos are no longer in contention for the seven-time Pro Bowler as it appears they are unable to offer a sizeable bid.

“The Antonio Brown sweepstakes roll on for the Steelers,” he said on Twitter.

“As teams come in and out. The Broncos deemed it too rich. The Jets enter the mix.

“The Raiders have been in it the whole time. Will be a fun week.”

The 2019 league year offically begins on March 13 and it is expected Pittsburgh will want a deal done quickly on Brown.

That is because Brown is due a $2.5million roster bonus on March 17, so many see this date as a soft deadline for a deal to be completed.

Brown’s future with the Steelers has been up in the air before the end of the regular season finished last year, when he failed to report to training before Pittsburgh’s season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The wideout was reportedly benched for the Bengals game following a training ground argument with Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

And since his trade request in February several teams have been linked with the nine-year NFL veteran.

Brown will not be a cheap option for any team taking on the wide receiver, as he is reportedly due $12.6m in 2019, $11.3m in 2020 and $12.5m in 2021.

The Steelers haven’t made it public what they are looking for in exchange for Brown, but it is believed to be a first-round pick.

And NFL analyst John Clayton believes Oakland is his most likely destination because they are holding several first-round picks for the 2019 NFL Draft.

“I think, actually, Oakland would have a better chance to do something because they have three draft choices,” he said.

“And, of course, I think you could pretty well anticipate that the Steelers would like a No. 1.”

Brown finished last season with 1,297 yards off 104 receptions.

He had an average 12.5 yards per catch and scored 15 touchdowns.
