Google Home price crash as a new update makes this smart speaker even better

Google Home Max is currently being sold for half price on the tech giant’s online store, meaning it is now just £199.

Google Home Max offers the best audio quality in the product line thanks to its laudable speaker system.

The Max comes with dual 4.5-inch woofers and custom tweeters that combine to deliver great sound.

Moreover, the hardware also has a feature Google calls “Smart Sound” that harnesses the power of machine learning to adjust the equaliser settings to match the acoustics of a particular room.

Google Home Max usually retails for £399, but the American tech giant is selling it for £199 until 11.59pm today, March 4.

The sale for the Google Home Max comes as the product line has just been granted new functionality.

Android Police recently received a screenshot from a reader setting up their Google Home Mini who insisted they had received a prompt saying they could make Google Duo calls with the hardware.

Such a feature had not previously been available with Google Home hardware.

The only exception to this is the Google Home Hub that is able to make audio and video calls for both mobile and Google Duo.

It is worth noting when the Google Home Hub makes a video call, only the owner’s avatar is displayed as the device does not have a front-facing camera.

The initial screenshot of the feature advertised on the Google Home app was backed up by another Twitter user that declared they had received the same prompt.

The Twitter user also posted a video of the feature working.

Although the ability to make and receive calls using Google Duo on a Google Home product has not been announced by the Mountain View firm, it appears the functionality is already rolling out to some owners.

Google Duo is the American tech giant’s video calling application that launched back in 2016.

In addition to video calls, Duo is also able to host traditional voice calls, too.

The software is available on both Android and iOS devices.
