Fortnite buried treasure looks set to arrive in Battle Royale on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PCs and Macs this week.
When Fortnite players currently login they are being teased that the buried treasure item is “coming soon”.
This likely means that Fortnite buried treasure is getting added to Battle Royale on Tuesday with the 8.0.0 content update.
The in-game teaser for Fortnite buried treasure reads: “X marks the spot.
“Scour the island for hidden loot with the new Buried Treasure item!”
Not much else is known about the Fortnite buried treasure item but popular leaker FortTory has leaked the sound files for the item.
Alongside the clip the Fortnite leaker posted: “The beacon we saw in the Trailer!”
It also appears that the location for one of the pieces of Fortnite buried treasure has been found.
A post online by Fort Tory claimed one piece of Fortnite buried treasure could be in square I4 on the Battle Royale map.
Fortnite content update 8.0.0 will be the first big upgrade to Battle Royale since the season 8 launch last week.
Fortnite season 8 was released last Thursday and brings a pirate theme to Battle Royale.
In the patch notes for the new Battle Pass Epic Games said: “Season 8 has arrived and a monstrous volcano has appeared!
“Freed from the Ice King’s castle, the now-powerful Prisoner has brought fire and flame to Fortnite and its islands.
“Pirates, Ninjas and a ship load of new fighters will tussle over treasure, battle with Pirate Cannons and uncover legendary loot.

“There are tons of new areas to explore and secrets to uncover. This season, X marks the spot!
