Tom Jones weight loss: How did he lose two stone in five months? Star ditched THIS to slim

Beating the bulge is something many people face, and that includes Tom Jones. The 78-year-old singer found himself unhappy with his weight, having piled on the pounds in the past. Determined to make a change, in 2011, the singer spoke out about how he had altered his lifestyle in a bid for a slimmer figure. It came after The Voice UK coach had lost more than two stone in just five months.

So, what did he do to achieve his weight loss results?

Speaking to Chris Evans during an interview for Radio 2, Tom explained he had previously been drinking a bottle of red wine with his dinner.

However, the hitmaker decided to put a stop to drinking each evening, in a bid to slim.

Having hired a dietitian, Tom recalled their reaction to his habit.

He explained: “The dietitian asked, ‘How much do you drink?’

“I told him I like a bottle of red wine with my dinner. ‘To yourself?’ he said.”

Tom jokingly teased: “What I didn’t tell him was I’d started off with a martini, had a cognac and a bottle of champagne too.”

The singer went on to give up alcohol altogether for two months.

And, he also changed the things he was eating too – taking tips from the US diet book Syndrome X: The Complete Nutritional Program to Prevent and Reverse Insulin Resistance.

This diet plan, also known as the caveman diet, suggests tucking into as much fresh food as possible.

The plan advises replacing processed carbohydrates such as pasta, pastries, and cereals, with meals packed with fish, chicken, and vegetables.
