Emmerdale spoilers: Debbie Dingle’s exit revealed in 5 dramatic storyline twists?

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb, who plays Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap recently announced she was pregnant.

It is her third child with fellow actor Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe.

Whilst she has not revealed how many months pregnant she is, fans are thinking about how her character is going to temporarily exit.

Here are five possible ways the mechanic could depart the village in the next few months.

Joe Tate is alive

Viewers still don’t know whether Joe Tate (played by Ned Porteous) is alive or dead following his mysterious disappearance last October at the Masquerade Ball.

After Kim Tate (Claire King) arrived back, she ordered Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) to get rid of the young businessman and scenes showed him being offered a large sum of money to run and never return.

However, it was the day of his wedding to Debbie and he felt he couldn’t leave without telling her what was going on. As he returned to Home Farm he bumped into Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and the two got into a fight which resulted in Joe falling to the floor and being pronounced dead.

But what if he isn’t dead? With his fingers twitching and no official body seen, there is the possibility he was given the chance to escape by Graham.

And next week, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is going to receive a phone call. Could this be Joe calling to find out how Debbie is?

After all, the mother and daughter have developed a close bond with one another and with Debbie recently expressing her interest to leave the village, could Charity help her escape into the arms of Joe?

Cain goes to prison

Should Joe actually be dead and the police find the body, it seems Cain will be the culprit and go down for murder.

Panicked, Debbie reported Joe as a missing person and the police opened an investigation.

In more recent scenes they questioned Graham and Cain over Joe’s last movements and their involvement in his life.

Cain confessed to seeing and speaking to Joe the day he went ‘missing’ and Graham then had to corroborate his story in accordance.

Whilst the two men were initially on the same side, things turned sinister for Cain when the businessman planted Joe’s watch covered in blood in his garage.

Ringing the police anonymously, he tipped them off about the evidence and they searched the garage with a warrant.

If Graham continues to plant evidence linking Cain to Joe’s body, could the police wrongly accuse him of being the murderer?

Thus in turn, Debbie feeling wholly responsible for her father being sent to prison could leave the village in shame.

Threatened by Graham

However, there is also the possibility of Debbie finding out Graham’s true involvement in Joe’s death.

Whilst she recently learnt about Cain accidentally punching Joe, she doesn’t know about Graham packing him into his car boot and potentially digging his grave.

Many fans are convinced Cain did not kill Joe with his punch due to the fact Graham was the one to check Joe’s pulse and announce him dead. What if he was lying to frame Cain?

To add to this, Joe’s finger’s twitched when he was lifted into Graham’s car, suggesting he was unconscious and not dead.

Scenes following suggested Graham finished Joe off and buried him, if this is the case and Debbie finds out he actually killed Joe for definite, she is understandably going to be furious.

But, if the businessman has the ability to kill Joe, he could threaten to do the same to Debbie should she tell the police the truth.

In a major twist, Debbie could demand the money Graham initially promised Joe so she can disappear from the village and lay low whilst the storm blows over.

How would you like Debbie to exit?

Kim Tate returns

The iconic villain is returning for good in upcoming weeks as she reprises her role of head of Home Farm.

She demanded the removal of Joe during her brief return in October and she could soon do the same to Debbie if she starts digging around for information.

When Kim came back last year she was at loggerheads with Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) which ended in her being pushed from the balcony.

Having already made enemies with a few Dingle women, it’s no surprise Debbie isn’t her biggest fan.

But Kim could quickly set her up. Debbie has a history with getting drawn into dodgy business deals.

Therefore, there is a strong possibility she could draw a deal with Kim and in turn get stitched up and sent to jail.

Having escaped a prison sentence for the acid attack on Ross Barton (Michael Parr), this could be justice in a round about way.

Sarah’s illness

Sarah Sugden (Sophia Moore) has been Debbie’s main priority since she returned to the village and her health has been a paramount problem for them both.

After being diagnosed with heart failure, viewers saw her wait for a transplant, which after a considerably long time she successfully underwent.

Last week, Sarah faked a fever to get Debbie to come home from a job interview in Aberdeen.

In a scene which she shared with Cain, Sally, Charity and Lydia Hart (Karen Blick), viewers heard the consequences a small fever could have on Sarah.

However, should she get ill again, Debbie would do everything in her power to make sure she’s OK.

Could this mean they leave the village to go and seek medical help elsewhere? And does this life or death matter mean Sarah’s dad Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) will return?

Emmerdale airs weekdays 7.30pm on ITV.
