Coronation Street spoilers: Devastating double death twist as Shona Ramsey stabbed?

Shona (played by Julia Goulding) has been taken hostage by her son Clayton (Callum Harrison) who escaped from prison earlier in the week on Coronation Street.

Fans know Shona will pretend to try and help Clayton but when he works out what she is really doing, he will stab her.

First-look images have shown Shona stumbling from a building covered in blood and falling into boyfriend David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) arms.

It’s not yet known if she will survive or suffer the same fate as Kylie Platt (Paula Lane), however it looks as though she may not be the only one to perish.

As Shona manages to get away from her son, armed police will surround the building.

Clayton will be forced to make a decision – hand himself in or try and get away for a final time.

If he does make a bid for it, armed police could be forced to shoot him in turn killing him.

The mother and son will both be rushed to hospital but their fate is being kept secret from viewers.

If Clayton does survive, it’s certain he will be locked away pretty quickly.

However, if he doesn’t make it and Shona does, she will no doubt be left bereft.

Speaking about their fates, Clayton star Callum told Metro.co.uk: “I think that would be history for him really, there’d be no coming back from that would there?”

Meanwhile Shona star Julia has teased she will be the one to die in upcoming scenes.

“Shona truly believes she is safe with Clayton because at the end of the day she is his mum,” she told Radio Times.

“But during the siege, there is a shift when she realises he could absolutely kill her. That’s terrifying.”

She went on to add: “It’s dangerous – and potentially somebody might not come out of there alive…”

It comes after it was suggested Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) could return to the ITV soap as the new super villain is revealed.

There have been several hints the new villain could be Gary (Mikey North), which may prompt his mother to return and help him out of a very sticky situation.

Anna has helped her son many times in the past, most recently when they both worked together to take down the evil Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).

After Phelan’s reign of terror was over she left the cobbles but if Gary gets himself into trouble, Anna could be forced to step in.

Coronation Street continues Monday on ITV at 7.30pm.
