Oti Mabuse: ‘Big mistake’ Strictly star addresses The One Show error amid Ore Oduba news

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 professional Oti Mabuse, 28, responded to a fan who said they were excited to see her take over presenting duties this evening. On the show’s website, The One Show’s synopsis previously stated that the BBC dancer would be presenting alongside Alex Jones, 41, in tonight’s episode, but she is actually scheduled to appear on March 7. The latest instalment will actually be fronted by the regular star and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba, 33. Addressing the mishap in view of her 86,000 followers yesterday, she wrote: “The @BBCOne made a big mistake @OreOduba is presenting tomorrow not me.

“I’m on Friday 7th March… same first letter in our names though, both did Strictly and, other than that, I think we know who’s a the better presenter.”(sic)

Ore also took took to his Twitter to joke about the mishap.

He shared a picture of Oti dressed in a purple jumpsuit, with the caption: “So I’m presenting the One Show tomorrow night… I think.

“I mean @otimabuse and I do share the same wardrobe… and they do say purple is my colour, and who DOESN’T wear a sparkling all-in-one for a Friday night OK @MissAlexjones just be ready #theresbeenamixup.”

Oti responded to his post, writing: “You can wear my purple Sausage jumpsuit.”

Ore replied: “I’ll leave mine in the dressing room for you,” followed by winking emojis.

He also told the dancer she will be “amazing” as the presenter on the show.

Despite the mishap, one fan suggested Oti and Ore could work well together.

They wrote: “Then again The Oti & Ore Show could work.”

Seeming open to the idea, Oti replied: “I’d love that… it would be one to watch that’s for sure.”

Earlier this week, Oti opened up about her upcoming stint on The One Show.

Speaking at the Rock Of Ages press night, she told reporters she was not going to replace Alex Jones when she goes on maternity leave, but is open to more presenting jobs.

She said: “I would like to [do more presenting] but the one I’m doing on the 7th Mach is just because they are getting in new celebrities.

“They’re getting a whole different lot but I’m not replacing her [Alex] for sure. I have to learn to read [the autocue] first.”

She added she will have to “practice” reading off of a screen from home.

The One Show continues tonight at 7pm on BBC One.
