Tesla: When will Elon Musk make mystery website announcement? Will they launch new car?

Tesla has transformed the car building business. The car company, owned by billionaire businessman Elon Musk, was the first to introduce electric cars into everyday life. And fans of the revolutionary cars can today expect some exciting updates, after Tesla head Elon Musk teased an imminent Tesla announcement.

When will Elon Musk make mystery website announcement? And will they launch a new electric car?

Tesla head Elon Musk confirmed an announcement will arrive today, Thursday, February 28, at 10.00pm GMT (2.00pm PT (5.00pm ET).

Elon Musk, also head of SpaceX, also caused a stir when he yesterday posted another cryptic message about the impending news.

Musk made a couple of changes to his Twitter bio, which could be clues about the announcement.

For example, Musk changed his Twitter name to “Elon Tusk” and added an elephant emoji.

And the controversial SpaceX founder also changed his photo to a picture of Mars with the word “Revive” on it.

And Tesla’s stock reacted immediately with a five precent jump.

Tesla’s shares were relatively flat ahead of the planned announcement on Thursday.

It does, however remain unclear whether Elon Musk will announce something truly newsworthy.

Musk is in trouble with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) about his tweeting habits.

Regulators on Monday had asked a federal judge to hold Musk in contempt for violating a settlement deal reached last year that involved criticism of Musk’s Twitter use.

Musk and Tesla settled their dispute with the SEC in October.

They agreed to pay $40million in fines and to start policing Musk’s social media posts after he caused a stock surge with a tweet that regulators said over-hyped Tesla’s value.

And Elon Musk also drew regulators’ wrath with a February 19 tweet that overstated how many cars Tesla plans to deliver in 2019.

The SEC claims Musk did not receive pre-approval for that tweet.
