Lisa Sheridan dead: CSI: Miami and Scandal star dies aged 44 at home in New Orleans

Lisa Sheridan was found dead at her New Orleans apartment on Monday morning, her manager Mitch Clem confirmed last night. “We all loved Lisa very much and are devastated by the loss we all feel,” he told People magazine. “She passed away Monday morning, at home, in her apartment in New Orleans. We are waiting for a coroners report on cause of death.” He also denied suggestions the actress took her own life, adding any reports of the kind were “100 per cent unfounded”.

“The family has unequivocally confirmed that this is not a suicide,” Mitch added. “Any suggestion to the contrary is absolutely, 100 per cent unfounded.”

The CSI: Miami and Scandal actress’ cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Lisa appeared on several TV shows including Halt and Catch Fire and Invasion, as well as The 4400 and The Mentalist.

Some friends of the late actress, including filmmaker Michael Dunaway, have shared the news of her passing on social media.

Donna D’Errico, who worked with Sheridan in the 2015 film Only God Can paid tribute to the star on Facebook.

Her emotional post read: “I just received news that my dear friend, actress Lisa Sheridan, has passed away. She was found Monday morning.

“I am sitting here stunned. Lisa and I filmed a movie together five years ago and became very close on set and remained close friends after filming ended.”

She continued: “It’s so rare to find kind, gentle souls like hers in this industry, this city… even this world.

“Truly one of the most genuinely sweet and gentle people I’ve ever come across in my life. She brought a sweetness and bright energy to any room she happened to walk into…even in her darker times.”

“I am devastated by this loss. I had just spoken with her and everything seemed great and she seemed happy and in good spirits.”

“Everyone who knew her loved and adored her. Goodbye and goodnight sweet angel… I will miss you terribly,” Donna, 50, finished. “Please send up prayers for her family.”

Meanwhile, filmmaker Michael paid his respects on Instagram, detailing how the pair met, as he honoured his “sweet little sister”.

“She called me Big Brother, and for all intents and purposes I was. I met Lisa when she was fourteen years old, over thirty years ago,” he wrote.

“We were immediately attached at the hip, true soulmates from minute one. For the rest of the days of her life, she was a central part of mine”

Michael went on to describe her as “beautiful”, as well as a “talented actor, and a wonderful friend.”

Lisa was previously engaged to A Million Little Things actor Ron Livingston in the early 2000s.
