Death in Paradise cast 2019: Who plays Gerald Baynes? Who is Daniel Ryan?

BBC One will be airing episode eight of Death in Paradise tonight (Thursday, February 28) at 9pm. The Death in Paradise 2019 finale will see a whole host of guest stars appearing in the episode which starts with a dead body turning up at the Saint Marie police station. Among the guest stars in the last episode are Hari Dhillon as Jay Carver, Lisa McGrillis as Hannah Wilde, Karl Theobald as David Molyneux and Grace Stone as Siobhan Mooney.

Who is Daniel Ryan?

Daniel Ryan is a British actor and writer hailing from Warrington, Lancashire.

The 51-year-old actor is perhaps best known for his role in BBC medical drama Casualty and Linda Green.

With a career spanning nearly three decades, Ryan has featured in a raft of film and TV series.

His other credits include The Bill, Home Fires on ITV, Just William and Mount Pleasant.

WHERE IS DEATH IN PARADISE FILMED?

Most recently, Ryan starred in the hard-hitting ITV drama series Innocent in which he portrayed a shady character who mat or may not have been involved in a murder case.

Among his film credits, the actor has starred in Black Sea, All or Nothing, and Ashes and Sand but his most high profile work has been on the small screen.

Ryan caught the acting bug after being inspired by a drama teacher who had studied at RADA with the actor going on to attend LAMDA.

He also counts stage work among his credits after featuring being part of the Royal Shakespeare Company for 18 months.

Meanwhile, his writing work has been performed at both the Edinburgh Festival and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

IS ARDAL O’HANLON LEAVING DEATH IN PARADISE?

A synopsis for this evening’s episode of Death in Paradise reads: “A horse-trekking expedition is cut short when Jack (played by Ardal O’Hanlon) discovers the dead body of a rider in the most unexpected of places – the police station itself.”

The Death in Paradise 2019 finale could also see Jack leaving Saint Marie when his daughter Siobhan gets in touch with him, suggesting things are not going well for her back in the UK.

O’Hanlon’s departure wouldn’t come as a complete surprise after the star hinted he could be bowing out, telling Digital Spy: “Why not get rid of that guy, and get in a woman?

“I think the show has proved, over the years, with its enduring popularity, that it can survive all sorts of changes. I think it’s very, very possible.”

WHY DID FLORENCE CASSELL STAR REALLY LEAVE?

His words have led fans to wonder if Jack will perhaps be replaced by Aude Legastelois as DS Madeleine Dumas, who arrived last week in the wake of Florence Cassel’s (Joséphine Jobert) exit.

This year has seen much change in the cast after it was announced Danny John-Jules revealed he was going to be leaving his role as veteran character Dwayne Myers.

In his place, the show brought on board rising star Shyko Amos as Ruby Patterson, a rookie officer learning the ropes.

But it wasn’t long before Florence exit the tropical idyll when tragedy struck, again changing the dynamic of the show.
