Man Utd star Romelu Lukaku makes transfer decision – Cristiano Ronaldo involved

Manchester United signed Lukaku from Everton in the summer of 2017, paying a huge £75million to land the Belgium international from Everton.

He impressed during his first season at Old Trafford, scoring 27 goals from 51 appearances across all competitions.

However, so far, Lukaku’s second campaign at Manchester United is yet to live up to expectations.

The talisman toiled when Jose Mourinho was in charge and, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he has fallen behind Marcus Rashford in the pecking order.

As a result, talk of a move away has been rife.

And The Sun say Lukaku has decided he wants to join Juventus should he leave the club this summer.

United are expected to sign a marquee attacker when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

Mauro Icardi has been linked amid his ongoing war with Inter Milan over his wife and agent, Wanda Nara.

And The Sun say Lukaku would love to join Ronaldo over in Turin.

A source is quoted as saying: “Lukaku’s preferred destination would be Juventus if he leaves the club.

“He is an absolutely massive fan of Ronaldo.

“He has lost his regular spot but not rocked the boast at all so far.

“The feelers are already out in both camps. We’ll have to wait and see but it’s going to be a busy summer.”

Juventus could sign Lukaku as a replacement for Paulo Dybala, who has also been tipped to move to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Lukaku has insisted he is happy playing under Solskjaer at United – despite being shunted to the wing.

With Rashford the club’s undisputed No 9, the Belgian bulldozer has had to reinvent himself.

And Lukaku said: “Left, right or up front, it doesn’t matter to me.

”Playing for this club is an honour and I just try to do my best in whichever position I play in.

“If it is on the right then I will try to create chances, which I did against Liverpool, and if it is up front then I will try to score goals.

“At the end of the day I just try and help my team-mates out and try to win matches.

“As long as the manager wants to use me I will do my best to help the team out. We have a number of injuries but we have to stay positive and have that positive mentality.

“We are Manchester United and we have to go and win wherever.”
