Is NASA lying about the Moon? 'Triangular monument' found on the Moon – 'What's going on?'

When NASA’s Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon on July 20, 1969, the lunar orb’s barren landscape was broadcast live to the world. UFO hunters and flat Earth theorist are, however, convinced there are artificial structures on the Moon. One such conspiracist is YouTuber Donald Wilson, known as Donny of Daytona, who believes he discovered a “triangular monument” on the Moon. In a conspiracy video exposing “the great deception”, Mr Wilson said he found a number of lunar structures “which shouldn’t be there”.

The UFO hunter pointed to a shadow on the surface of the Moon, which he claimed is quite clearly some sort of structure.

He also alluded to the possibility he was looking at an artificially built Chinese version of the Moon.

Mr Wilson said: “This is very new. This triangular monument right here next to this common crater and that huge trail that goes to it, you know, that section of the Moon.

“This is new, that triangular monument. Watch, I think I get a clearer shot of it.

“Out of nowhere, this has come up. I have never seen this triangular monument before.

“So, it makes you wonder what’s going on. How can parts of the Moon’s faces be changing a bit or things are just popping up and being added on?

“Makes you wonder if sometimes we see China’s Moon, the one they launched.”

Mr Wilson’s bizarre video sparked a frenzy of comments challenging NASA and accusing the US space agency of lying about the Moon.

One YouTuber, Annette The Crow, said Mr Wilson’s video discredits NASA and proves the flat theory at the same time.

The YouTube user said: “You know, been sitting here thinking so NASA really just screwed themselves.

“Flat Earth was just proved by NASA by saying our Moon is inside our atmosphere. So, for the 1,000,000 dollar question.

“What happened to gravity? Wouldn’t the Moon fall to the Earth? Wouldn’t it pull down?

“Just a thought. I guess the answer would be so far up gravity doesn’t exist. I gotta call b******t.

“I think they discredit anything they’ve ever said about the Moon and its truly because of people like you. Opening eyes.”

Another YouTuber, John Roberts, questioned whether the Moon is much closer to Earth than what NASA is claiming.

Mr Roberts said: “Personally I think it’s a lot closer.”

Officially, the Moon sits about 238,855 miles (384,400 km) from the Earth, which is a globe and is not flat.

NASA is able to precisely calculate the distance between the planet and its natural satellite thanks to laser reflectors left on the Moon by is astronauts.

NASA explained: “The distance to these retroreflectors from the Earth can be and is still routinely measured to the centimetre level or better, and their relative positions are known to a similar level.

“Such measurements can be used for several purposes, such as precisely determining the orientation and orbit of the Moon, testing gravitation and general relativity theories, and for establishing a highly precise latitude and longitude coordinate frame for the Moon.”
