Fortnite update 8.0 will go live alongside Season 8 of Battle Royale.
Fortnite Season 8 has a February 28 release date on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

The start of the new season will coincide with an extensive period of downtime and a huge new update.
And while the update 8.0 patch notes are yet to be revealed in full, one thing we can be sure of is that major changes will be coming to the map.
Based on the early Season 8 teasers, new points of interest could include a volcano and mysterious cave.
You can also expect pirates, dragons, snakes and bananas to make an appearance in some capacity.
One thing we know for certain is that planes are being vaulted in update 8.0.
This was confirmed by Epic Games in a recent Reddit thread: “Planes will be vaulted at the start of Season 8. Get your airtime in now!”
Fortunately, however, it looks like Driftboards are here to stay, or at least for the time being.
“Having fun catching air and nailing tricks with the Driftboard?” reads an Epic post. “Good news, it’ll still be available in the v8.00 update! Keep sharing your favorite clips with us.”
Early patch notes have also been revealed for the 8.0 update on mobile.
The patch notes – which can be seen below – confirm plans to add a dedicated edit button and more.
