Fortnite season 8 map: Major changes coming to THIS location? Rumours and volcano latest

Fortnite season 8 is just a few days away with the brand new Battle Pass coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PCs and Macs soon.

Fortnite season 8 has a release date of Thursday February 28 and Epic Games have been busy teasing what’s to come with the new Battle Pass.

The latest Fortnite season 8 teaser hinted at the arrival of a volcano and a fearsome creature – possibly the much rumoured Leviathan.

Could this dragon-like creature have come from the eggs that went missing from Polar Peaks?

The Fortnite season 8 teaser said: “Awaken beasts, Of fire and ash, Battle it out, And loot the stash. 2 days to Season 8.”

The Fortnite season 8 teaser image that accompanied the post showed a dragon-like creature and part of a volcano.

As long-term fans will be aware, a Fortnite volcano has long been rumoured to be getting added to Battle Royale.

It was rumoured that a Fortnite volcano was going to replace Loot Lake back in Fortnite season 5.

The rumours were sparked after audio files for flowing lava was discovered by dataminers in Fortnite update 5.40.

And now it looks like the time has come that the Fortnite volcano will finally get added to the map.

It also looks like the Wailing Woods location will play a big role in Fortnite season 8.

Fans have noticed that in the days leading up to Fortnite season 8 Wailing Woods has started to rot.

Leaves in the area are turning brown while ground in this section of the Fortnite map is slowly rotting.

Interestingly, Donald Mustard – creative director of Fortnite – recently changed his Twitter location to Wailing Woods.

Mustard has previously dropped hints about Fortnite by changing his Twitter location.

Prior to Fortnite season 7 starting Mustard changed his Twitter location to The Iceberg.

And just recently Mustard had his Twitter location as The Dungeon – likely referring to the eggs that were discovered at the bottom of the Ice Castle.

Whether Wailing Woods gets destroyed at the start of Fortnite season 8, or sticks around in a vastly different shape, remains to be seen.

But fans won’t have long to find out as the Fortnite season 8 release date is just around the corner.
