Ed Sheeran married: Thinking Out Loud singer 'weds Cherry Seaborn in secret ceremony'

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn are said to have tied the knot just before Christmas in front of their friends and family. It has been reported the 28-year-old pop star and Cherry, who he met at high school, had no celebrities attend their top secret ceremony. Only 40 people are believed to have watched the childhood sweethearts say ‘I do’ at his country estate in Suffolk. A source claimed the couple wanted a “no fuss” event, with the guestlist limited to old school friends, family and the priest.

“There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any Royals or pop star pals,” the insider told The Sun.

“He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding.”

They added: “It’s amazing that he’s the biggest pop star in the world but he was just able to quietly slide off and wed.

“Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Ed Sheeran for comment.

Ed announced his engagement to his longtime love, Cheery, in January last year, surprising many of his fans.

Sharing a sweet image of the two of them together on his Instagram account on January 20, The Shape Of You crooner revealed their engagement.

He captioned the adorable photograph: “Got myself a fiancé just before New Year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well.

The couple, who reportedly began dating in 2015, have managed to keep their romance out of the limelight.

Cherry rarely appears in Ed’s social media posts and has her own personal accounts set to private.

She is a hockey player and has played for England’s Under 21 team, contributing to their success when they won a bronze medal in the European Championships.

Ed previously hinted the two got married during an interview with Access Online last August.

When the singer was asked if he had picked a date for his wedding he proudly held up his hand.

Displaying a glistening wedding band on his ring finger, the British star smiled widely.

At the time, the interviewer congratulated him and called the news “exciting”, to which Ed replied “yeah”.

When asked how he managed to “sneak that one”, the musician then added: “I never really do anything too public anyway.”
