Coronation Street may soon see the Connor family lose a member as Michelle Connor (played by Kym Marsh) is rumoured to be leaving the ITV show. The Connor family tree is also about to get more complicated by the return of Alex Neeson (Dario Coates), Michelle’s biological son who was switched at birth with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). How are the Connors related in Coronation Street?
Johnny Connor
Johnny is the oldest of Corrie’s Connors, and father to two living children on the Street.
He is also the father of one child who previously lived in Weatherfield and met a tragic end on the Cobbles.
He had two children with the unseen Louisa Connor, who according to Johnny died in 1993 and had Carla with Sharon, an unseen woman he had a one-night-stand with.
Johnny’s three children are Carla, Kate and Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), who took his own life in a 2018 storyline.
Carla Connor
Carla Connor (née Donovan) is the oldest of Johnny’s three children, born in 1975.
Though Carla first joined the Street in 2006, her parents were not seen until two years later.
Barry and Helen are also the parents of two ex-Street residents Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Paul Connor (Sean Gallagher), both of whom died on the show.
This means Carla is third cousins to Michelle, though when Carla was married to Paul she was also her sister-in-law.
Michelle Connor
Michelle is the youngest of Barry and Helen’s three children.
She joined Corrie in April 2006, making her the longest-running Connor of those now on the ITV series.
As well as being the birth mother of Alex and legal parent of Ryan, Michelle gave birth to Ruairi McDonald in 2017.
The premature baby, whose father was Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), however, died just moments after his birth.
Kate Connor
The youngest of Johnny’s three children is Kate, born 1989.
She is Carla’s half-sister due to them having different mothers.
Kate is also the third cousin to Michelle, with whom she was raised in Manchester.
She first joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2015, when she arrived in Weatherfield with her father.
