Claire King weight loss: Emmerdale star who plays Kim Tate follows this diet

Claire King returned to Emmerdale in the role of Kim Tate in a bombshell plot-line for the ITV soap.

The actress played the role for 10 years, between 1989 and 199.

She has also acted in Bad Girls and Coronation Street.

Claire looks amazing for her age of 56 years. What diet plan does she follow?

In 2005 the actress told the Mirror how she lost 10lbs to two weeks, shedding a dress size.

This impressive weight loss of half a stone was thanks to a very specific diet.

The actress was advised by Karin Ridgers, a diet expert.

Claire cut out wheat, dairy and red meat on the plan.

She told the publication: “Karin usually devises vegetarian diets but I pleaded with her to include some meat, so she let me add chicken.”

What were the rules of the diet?

Claire drank two litres of water a day, and had one day off the diet a week.

When she woke up she ate five grapes and warm water with lemon squeezed into it.

More recently, in 2015, she revealed to closer magazine that she followed the 5:2 diet.

What is the 5:2 diet?

The plan restricts the dieters calories to 500 a day, two days a week.

This form of fasting is said to help speed up the weight loss process.

Claire is not the only Emmerdale star to have lost a lot of weight recently.

Emmerdale star Laura Norton’s weight loss was all down to ditching a certain food.

Laura was drinking 1,700 calories per day of Coke.

This adds up to four litres of the drink.

The NHS recommends a maximum of 7.2 teaspoons of sugar a day for women, but Laura was having 106.
