Kevin Costner plays the former Texas Ranger Frank Hamer.

Woody Harrelson plays his partner, the former ranger Maney Gault

Kathy Bates plays “Ma” Ferguson, the first female governor of Texas.

Other cast members include John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens, William Sadler, and Thomas Mann as Ted Hinton a Texas deputy sheriff.
