Paul Sinha Twitter: The Chase star reveals embarrassing quiz fail which still haunts him

Paul Sinha, 48, is best known as The Sinnerman on ITV game show The Chase but is also a successful comedian. Coming clean about a gaffe he made as a youngster, the quizzer responded to a tweet which asked social media users: “What is your most on-brand story from your childhood?” The Chaser went on to tell his 101,000 Twitter followers about an incident which occurred in one of his earlier quiz championships. It transpired he had once lost his team the title whilst still at school — a far cry from his superior quizzing talents nowadays.

“My dad still tells dinner guests how I cost my school a win in the London U13 quiz championships final by failing to say ‘sedan chair’,”(sic) he said.

Fans took to the comments section to respond to Paul’s hilarious anecdote, with one saying: “Luv it, flipping’ dads hey!”(sic)

“We lost a quiz last week because we put the answer as Einstein and they wanted (without saying) his full name,” another chipped in, clearly still put out by the decision as they added a string of angry swearing emojis.

A third Twitter user simply said: “Oof!”

Paul has been part of the line-up of Chasers on The Chase since 2011.

He has become known for his distinctive white suit, which attracts many cheeky digs from host Bradley Walsh, 58.

The comedian is currently taking his new show, The Two Ages of Man, on tour around the UK.

The tour runs until April and includes an appearance at Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

Last month, The Chase star Paul Sinha announced his engagement to his partner.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “I proposed today. He said yes.

“Thus starts yet another diet,” he quipped.

Fans flooded to the comments section to share their congratulations for The Chase favourite, with one joking: “Well it’s about time! Congrats! You’re wearing white, right?”

“At least you already have the suit,” another said. “Congratulations.”

“Congratulations! He took the higher offer, then,” a third remarked, referring to The Chase’s format.

Paul previously opened up about his relationship status in an interview with GuysLikeU in 2017, saying he was “happy with a boyfriend”.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
