Captain Marvel is nearly here and fans are already excited for the superhero movie. Despite a certain subset of fans taking issue with the film’s star, Brie Larson’s presence calls for a more diverse press pool at its screenings and Captain Marvel is still a hotly anticipated film. First reactions have been wholly positive ahead of the movie’s March 8 release date.
How long is Captain Marvel?
The Captain Marvel runtime is two hours and four minutes long.
This runtime does not take into account the post-credits scene.
Thanks to initial screenings, the existence of said scenes had already been confirmed.
Not only are there two post-credits scenes, but there is also a pre-film scene, too.
Sonaiya Kelley from the Los Angeles Times confirmed the scenes in a tweet.
She said the pre and post-credit scenes “made me tear up and gave me goosebumps respectively”.
With these scenes and the credits, the runtime will likely be bumped up to two hours and 15 minutes, give or take.
Some post-credits scenes occur mid-way through, some at the very end.

One thing is for sure, it is worth sticking around the extra minutes to watch them.
The official plot synopsis for Captain Marvel reads: “The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. “
As superhero movies go, Captain Marvel is in line with the average runtime.
Avengers: Infinity War was two hours and 40 minutes, while Avengers: Endgame is rumoured to be nearing three hours in length.
Endgame will likely take over the mantle of longest Marvel movie to date.

Brie Larson recently appeared at the 2019 Oscars to present the award for Best Adapted Screenplay with her Captain Marvel co-star Samuel L Jackson.
Larson has recently come under fire from a certain subset of fans.
The star called for a more diverse pool of journalists at the Captain Marvel screenings in an interview published by Marie Claire.
“About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies, and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white-male.”
“So, I spoke to Dr Stacy Smith at the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, who put together a study to confirm that.
“Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive.
“After speaking with you [Keah Brown, journalist; a woman of colour with cerebral palsy], the film critic Valerie Complex and a few other women of colour, it sounded like across the board they weren’t getting the same opportunities as others.
“When I talked to the facilities that weren’t providing it, they all had different excuses.”
The spurious trolling largely comes from white-male fans claiming Larson ‘hates’ them and doesn’t want them to see the film.
But even this level of baseless trolling can’t dim the excitement around Captain Marvel.
