Arsenal news: Mkhitaryan makes big admission over top four ahead of Bournemouth game

The Gunners are currently fourth, one point ahead of in-form Manchester United.

Chelsea are three points behind, but have a game in hand.

With 11 games remaining this season, Arsenal are in the driving seat having beaten Southampton 2-0 on Sunday.

Mkhitaryan netted the second goal in that game, as Arsenal put the pressure back onto United and Chelsea.

They are still in contention for the Europa League, too, and will face Rennes in the round of 16 next week.

Despite being in a good situation, and with what some believe to be an easier run-in, the Armenian winger declared that he is refusing to get carried away.

“We are not looking at the table at the moment because we still have lots of games to play,” he said to The Mail.

“The most important is to be focused and to be ready for every game because we are not going to think that we are in the top four and nothing will change.

“We just have to keep working and trying our best to win three points in every game.

“It is not the main thing at the moment.

“The season is not done, we still have lots of games to play.

“The most important thing is to stay focused and keep winning games.”

Arsenal are back in action on Tuesday night as they host Bournemouth.

After facing the Cherries, they move on to tough two league games against Tottenham Hotspur and then Man United.

Once they’ve faced United, they have no more games against anyone in the top six in their last eight games of the season.
