Virgin Media offers FREE Amazon Echo smart speaker to customers in latest deal

Virgin Media is trying to tempt customers with a deal that offers anyone taking out a new contract the chance to get an Amazon Echo for free.

The offer, which lasts until February 27, is available with all of Virgin’s bundles including the VIP, Full House, Mix and Player.

If you take out a new contract with the VIP or Full House options you’ll get a new standard Echo speaker worth £89.99 and those opting for the Mix or Player packages will get a free Echo Dot worth £49.99.

As a reminder here’s what each bundle includes.

VIP – This is Virgin’s most premium service and includes over 260 channels with Sky Sports, Cinema and BT Sport coming as part of the contract.

There’s also Virgin’s VIVID 350 broadband which offers average speeds of 362Mbps.

The VIP costs £89 per month with customers needing to sign a 12-month contract.

FULL HOUSE TV – This slightly cheaper bundle includes 230 channels such as BT Sport and Sky Entertainment in HD.

There’s also VIVID 100 broadband with average speeds hitting 108Mbps.

Full House costs £57 per month.

Again you’ll need to sign a 12-month contract and there is an upfront fee to pay on all new contracts.

MIX TV – This is a cheaper option for those that don’t want access to any sporting action.

The Mix TV bundle features 150 channels including Sky One, Sky Living, FOX and MTV.

You’ll also get average speeds of 108Mbps with the price for this pack costing £47 per month.

PLAYER TV – This is Virgin’s entry-level bundle with it costing just £33 per month.

For your moneyyou get 70 channels and. VIVID 50 broadband which brings average speeds of 54Mbps to your home.

Along with the Echo dealthere is one final offer from Virgin Media.

The broadband and TV firm is currently giving customers the chance to get its Full House Movies bundle for £60 per month – a saving of £7.

This pack includes over 240 channels plus Sky Cinema in HD and there’s also access to average broadband speeds of up 213Mbps.

All of these deals can be found on Virgin’s bundle’s page.

Along with these new deals, Virgin Media has just announced it’s increasing the number of programmes available in 4K.

The TV and broadband firm says that a collection of critically acclaimed drama series, documentaries and music concerts – which many are UK network premieres – will take centre-stage in UHD on the Virgin TV Ultra HD channel over the coming months.

That’s clearly good news but, sadly, to get this content you are going to have to pay.

The 4K channels are currently only available to customers on Virgin TV Full House and VIP premium bundles.
