James Jordan: Dancing On Ice star runs into trouble with wife Ola moments after ITV show

James Jordan came second on the Dancing On Ice 2019 leaderboard and made it through to the semi-final, following Melody Thornton’s elimination. But, the rest of the former Strictly Come Dancing pro’s evening didn’t quite go to plan, and he revealed all on Instagram. The 40-year-old was seemingly making his way home with his wife Ola Jordan, 36, and his parents when technology failed them. The group found themselves calling for help after getting stuck in a lift, although they seemed far from concerned.

“So, Dancing On Ice has finished and I’m with my mum and dad, and we’re stuck in a lift,” James had informed his 118,000 followers.

The performer was seen in the close-up clip which panned around to reveal that Ola was attempting to solve the issue.

Speaking to engineers via the lift intercom, the dancer could be heard in the background saying: “Hello… hi… hi… we’re stuck in a lift. We are stuck in a lift.”

The family were soon told that help was on it’s way, and she replied: “Oh thank you, thank you very much.”

Repeating what his wife had said, James then went on to try and push the lift doors open, but was without success.

“Help! Help!” Ola was heard shouting but did not sound worried, as her spouse of 16 years continued to film.

As he focussed in on his mother and father, the latter told him jokingly: “Don’t worry about it. Just kick the door down.”

Meanwhile, James also took to Twitter and the picture-sharing app to thank fans for their support and votes.

“YESSSSSSS!! Thank you to everyone who voted!! #teamjames,” he tweeted, after securing his place in the next round with partner Alexandra Schauman.

The duo achieved a whopping 40.5 points from the ice panel, with them being just half a point away from a perfect 10 from Jayne Torvill.

Just in front was Wes Nelson with 42.5 points, after being awarded maximum points by both Torvill and Dean.

They will go head to head with Brian McFadden and Saara Aalto in the semi-final on Sunday.

Westlife hitmaker Brian had been favourite to be axed, with bookmakers Coral offering odds of 4-6 he’d go.

However, it was Melody and Saara who found themselves in the skate off, with the judges unanimously saving the latter.

Wes is tipped as the most likely to triumph next month with odds of 4-6, followed by James on 7-4.

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues next Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
