Fortnite Season 8 TEASER: Battle Pass and new skins news ahead of start date

The first official teaser has been released for Fortnite Season 8, providing a few clues on what the new Battle Pass could contain.

Epic Games do this in the run up to the start of a new season, with Season 7 scheduled to end in the coming days.

Past teasers have included new skins and other items that have proven very important to the overall theme.

Players were first introduced to the Ice King during the end of Season 6, so fans are taking a good look at today’s release.

The first Fortnite Season 8 teaser doesn’t provide a wealth of clues but does appear to include a hook.

It looks very much like the one you would associate with Pirates, giving fans the idea that Season 8 will be tropical themed.

One user posted: “The hook in the photo is so obvious. Probably going to be a pirate themed POI and skin in the battle pass, but how do the cracks play into this?”

Another adds: “I’m really sceptical about this… I hope it’s just one skin that’s a pirate and that’s it.

“They would feel heavy and I don’t like skins like that, never play with them anyway.”

Whatever it may be, Epic Games posted the new image with a hefty caption which also appears to be filled with clues.

“’X’ Marks The Spot, Treasure abound, Loot that has been lost, Can always be found. 4 days to Season 8.”

This seems to fit in with the idea of a pirate-themed tropical adventure for Season 8.

There have also been rumours of some serious map changes, linked with the cracks appearing in the map.

Fans are hoping to see the recently transformed Prisoner to do some serious damage during the end-season events.

Data miners believe they have found evidence of some big fiery effects being used, which could change key areas.

And Epic Games dropped another hint that something tropical themed was being planned for the next season, during a recent AMA on Reddit.

When a fan asked them to describe Season 8 in one word, Epic Games chose “bananas” for it.

Whatever is being planned by Epic Games, there could be a lot of added interest in Season 8.

The development team has announced that all those players who complete the current Overtime Challenges will be rewarded with a free Season 8 Battle Pass.

Thirteen of the free Overtime Challenges need to be completed by February 27 to qualify for the free Season 8 Battle Pass.

It has also been announced that the Season 8 Battle Bundle will be available at a discount for players who earn a Season 8 Battle Pass via the Overtime Challenges.
