Fortnite Season 8 start date CONFIRMED as Epic teaser promises bananas

Epic Games has confirmed some big news about Fortnite Battle Royale this week, including when Season 8 will start on all platforms.

It hasn’t been a secret that Season 7 was scheduled to end on February 27; however, there have been times in the past when a new season start date has been postponed.

This could be down to technical issues or Epic Games allowing Battle Pass owners more time to complete their challenges.

But now Epic Games has confirmed that the Fortnite Season 8 start date has been scheduled for Thursday, February 28.

They revealed this news on during an AMA session on Reddit, along with some other fun facts.

“Season 8 Launches on Thursday, February 28. See you there!” they posted as a final sign off and confirmed the final date.

Epic Games has also started dropping teasers for Season 8 and what the new theme will be.

This will be very important as it will greatly affect the kind of skins and cosmetics players can expect from the Battle Pass.

And with the Battle Pass being available for free if you complete 13 Overtime Challenges, you can imagine that interest is high.

When it comes to the general theme, Epic Games has started dropping official teaser images on Twitter.

So far, these include a hook and a snake, which suggest a tropical theme, featuring Pirates and treasure.

And fans who have put together the new images have confirmed that it helps to make a skull, another clear indication of where Epic Games is taking the game next.

Verbal clues have also been shared by the development team, with more expected to be shared in the coming days.

Here are the captions that go with the two new images, posted this week by Epic Games:

“Sssomething shimmers Within the cave… But beware of those Who arrive on waves. 3 days to Season 8.

“’X’ Marks The Spot Treasure abound Loot that has been lost Can always be found.”

And during the recent Reddit AMA session, Epic Games was also asked if they could sum up Season 8 in one word.

They chose to describe it as “Bananas” which fits in with the idea of a tropical excursion for the Fortnite map.

Fans can also expect more images and captions to be posted about Fortnite Battle Royale in the days to come.

And more teasers mean more change at working out what is coming next to the popular free-to-play shooter.
