Emmerdale spoilers: Sarah Sugden to exit as Debbie and Cain's rift takes a TRAGIC turn?

Sarah (played by Katie Hill) was left devastated at the end of last week’s instalment of Emmerdale as mother Debbie (Charley Webb) told her they would be moving to Scotland to get away from Cain (Jeff Hordley) over the disappearance of Debbie’s fiancé Joe (Ned Porteous).

However, what Sarah doesn’t know is Cain supposedly killed Joe and instead, made him leave the village by another means which the youngster sees as a good thing as Joe could have caused more trouble for the Dingle clan.

Debbie was filled with rage as tonight’s instalment of the ITV soap began as she learned her job in Scotland had fallen through as her father had given her a bad reference after Sarah confided in him about leaving the village.

With the father and daughter at odds once more, Debbie turned on her daughter for faking an illness to make them stay and then running to Cain about leaving.

However, Sarah was quick to jump to her grandfather’s defence as Debbie continued to slate him, with the teenager telling her mother Cain had got “rid of Joe” to make their lives better, as with everything he had done in the past.

Although Sarah knows Cain was arrested for the suspected murder of Joe, she doesn’t know Cain believes he killed the Home Farm socialite and knowing her father’s guilt, Debbie almost blew the cover this evening as the conversation between her and Sarah got heated.

After Debbie threw Cain out, Sarah was quick on his heels as she told her mother: “My family is here. You can go wherever you like, but I’nm staying here.

“I hate you,” Sarah exclaimed before following her grandfather out of The Woolpack, leaving Debbie heartbroken as the rift with her father is now causing her relationship with Sarah to become strained.

Later on in the episode, Cain had a conversation with Sarah at Butler’s Farm, where he tried to defend Debbie being so protective of her but the teenager was reluctant to let her mother off the hook.

Explaining why he was defending Debbie although she had said some hurtful things to him, Cain told Sarah: “Because I probably deserved it,” but Sarah was quick to jump to his defence once more which led to a shock outburst from Cain.

“It’s my fault, right, and you going on about it, you’re just not helping,” with Sarah then asking: “So, you’re just going to let her get away with it?

“You’re just as bad as her,” the tearful teenager added as she realised she could be fighting a losing battle with her family.

Having felt the wrath of both her mother and grandfather, Sarah could decide although she didn’t want to leave the village initially, she has now seen her family’s true colours and call time on her life in the village.

Knowing it is unlikely they will come to an agreement, Sarah could decide to go live with her father Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) away from the Dales.

With actor Kelvin Fletcher’s, 35, return teased a few weeks ago, he could make a short comeback to collect his daughter as the Dingle feud reaches a head.

Will Debbie be left heartbroken as he loses the daughter she has tried to protect from the secrets of the family, or can she convince the youngster things will get better?

Elsewhere in the Dales, Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) questioned boyfriend Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) about his plans for his upcoming birthday.

Telling him she wanted to spend the evening together for a birthday meal, the schoolboy seemed less than reluctant as he has developed an inappropriate relationship with his teacher and step-father’s girlfriend, Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein).

David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Maya interrupted the pair in the cafe with Jacob elated at seeing his teacher, who told him to go along with Liv’s plans as a cover for their relationship.

Upcoming scenes will see the Maya and Jacob plan to take their relationship to the next level, but will they be caught out?
