Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd plot Barcelona raid, £40m Arsenal target, Liverpool promise

09.50 UPDATE: Real Madrid in Eden Hazard decision

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is no longer a priority target for Real Madrid, according to surprise reports in Spain.

Hazard has made no secret of his desire to one day swap Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu and play for Real.

The La Liga giants had been expected to move for him in the summer as they overhaul their underperforming squad.

Marca claim Real, though, have cooled their interest in the wideman, who is under contract until 2020.

09.20 UPDATE: Liverpool promise

Liverpool managing director Billy Hogan has insisted Jurgen Klopp will be backed once again during the summer transfer window.

“That represents a significant investment into the non-playing side and that is a great indication of where we are as a club, both on and off the pitch,” said Hogan.

“From our perspective, what you are seeing is a continuation of that performance on the pitch and the reinvestment in the squad, which is the most important thing from our point of view; nothing is a distraction from putting a successful team on the pitch.

“Putting Jurgen and the guys on the football side in a position to compete at the highest levels, that is always our focus and we see our contribution to that in the form of being able to run the business in a better way and being able to drive revenues to invest back into the team.”

08.50 UPDATE: £40m Arsenal target

Arsenal are leading the race to sign £40m-rated Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, it has been claimed.

The Gunners are without Hector Bellerin at present after the right-back suffered a serious knee injury.

While Stephan Lichtsteines and Carl Jenkinson are not up to the task of playing in the Premier League.

The Sun claim Arsenal have leapt ahead of Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the race for Wan-Bissaka’s signature.

08.25 UPDATE: Man Utd plot Barcelona raid

Manchester United have set their sights on Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic as they plan to freshen up their playing staff, it has been reported in Spain.

Rakitic might see his playing time at the Nou Camp come under threat next season if he stays around following the arrival of Frenkie de Jong.

However, Mundo Deportivo reckon that situation might not pan out if United get their way and manage to snare the former Sevilla ace.

Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also credited with interest in snapping up Rakitic from Barcelona.
