Texas HORROR crash: Two bodies recovered after cargo plane NOSE-DIVES near Houston

In total, three people were onboard the aircraft. The Boeing 767 nose dived as it approached George Bush International Airport. It was travelling from Miami, in Florida.

Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne commented: “There was nothing intact of the airplane.

“Knowing what I saw, I don’t think anyone could survive it.”

He added that the crash site extends over three miles.

The crash took place in Trinity Bay in five feet deep water, and is only accessible via flat-bottom craft such as airboats.

Eyewitnesses reported the engine noise appeared to surge as the aircraft descended.

Boxes and packaging content were scattered across the water.

Divers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police and the Baytown Police are searching the site.

Referring to the pilot, Mr Hawthorne added: “There’s no doubt he was having some kind of problem with the airplane, according to the eyewitnesses.

“Then it turned and went into a nosedive.”

According to Robert Sumwalt, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, the aircraft entered into a “very, very rapid descent”.

The aircraft which crashed was built in 1992, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

A spokesman for Boeing said: “We are prepared to provide technical assistance to the National Transportation Safety Board as it investigates the accident”.
