New Sky TV offer arrives at the perfect time for customers

There’s been plenty of good and bad news for Sky customers in the past few days with the satellite TV firm increasing some prices but also offering some hefty discounts.

Standard costs for Sky’s broadband and some services such as Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment are going up from April.

However, despite this hike, there are ways to actually drop your monthly bill with Sky currently offering some discounts on its TV and broadband bundles.

These include a cheaper price for Sky Entertainment and Sports which now costs £45 per month and TV plus broadband for £42 per month – saving £280 over the 18-month contract.

Along with these offers, Sky has also announced a deal which comes just in time for the new F1 season.

Customers are now able to add the Sky Sports F1 channel for only £10 per month with the deal launching from March 1.

Sky has also confirmed that the offer comes with a two-year price guarantee so this monthly cost should not go up.

Sky Sports will broadcast all 21 races in 2019 starting with the Australian Grand Prix on 17 March from Melbourne.

Every practice session, qualifying session and race will be shown exclusively live, with the exception of the British Grand Prix.

Sky UK and Ireland Chief Executive Officer Stephen van Rooyen said: “Seven years ago we rewrote the rules and created a dedicated channel for F1, pushing the boundaries of sports broadcasting. Each year we challenge ourselves to go further and this year will be a whole new chapter.

“We are extremely proud to partner with F1, honouring the history and traditions of this great sport, whilst also taking fans even closer to the track and share our excitement for the future.”

Sky Sports F1 coverage has some new and returning faces joining the lineup.

2009 world champion Jenson Button joins the team, adding to Sky Sports’ roster of world champions alongside Damon Hill and Nico Rosberg.

As a reminder, here’s all the new Sky pricing which comes into force from April

• Sky Cinema is increasing by £1 from £10 to £11 (if a customer is already in-contract, it won’t increase)

• Sky Entertainment is increasing by £2 from £20 to £22

• Sky Broadband will increase by £1, across all packages

• Sky Fibre Broadband will increase by £2 across all packages

• Sky Q Multiscreen is increasing by £1 from £12 to £13

• Sky Talk Evening and Weekends will increase by £1 from £4 to £5

• Sky Talk Anytime will increase by £2 from £8 to £10

It’s worth noting that not all products are increasing – Sky Sports, Sky Go, Sky Box Sets, Sky HD, Sky Voicemail, Talk International, in-contract Sky Cinema and Sky Kids will not be rising in price.
