Dancing on Ice 2019: Who left Dancing on Ice tonight?

Dancing on Ice 2019 has just four celebs left after tonight (Sunday, February 24) saw another contestant leave. James Jordan, Brian McFadden, Melody Thornton, Saara Aalto and Wes Nelson were the five contestants skating tonight on the ITV show, two of which had to dance-off and one of which left the competition. McFadden had been the favourite to leave before the episode kicked off, but he was saved by the public vote.

Who left Dancing on Ice tonight?

Melody Thornton became the eighth contestant to leave Dancing on Ice tonight.

Melody was joined by Saara Aalto in the skate-off after both proved unpopular with the public after the vote.

Judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner then had to choose who would stay and who would go tonight.

All four judges chose Saara and her partner Hamish Gaman to stay for next week’s semi-finals.

WHO WILL LEAVE DANCING ON ICE NEXT?

Melody, who was coupled with Alexander Demetriou, paid tribute to her father in her exit interview.

Alexander added: “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.

He further praised the Pussycat Doll, saying: “Every week she just improves.”

Many fans were shocked that Melody was voted out over Saara, who was bottom of the leaderboard going into the public vote.

WHO IS MELODY THORNTON?

The five pairs had to dance a time tunnel-themed dance that saw the skaters paying tribute to a historical era.

The judges challenged the contestants to include freestyle jumps in their routines.

The Dancing on Ice contestants also had to take part in a group dance.

Prior to tonight, Brian McFadden had been the bookies favourite to leave.

COULD JAMES JORDAN RETURN TO STRICTLY?

The Westlife singer was 4/6 to hang up his skates after tonight’s edition of the ITV show.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Brian has had a great run on Dancing On Ice.

“But the betting suggests his time on the show will come to an end this weekend as he is the odds-on favourite in our elimination market.”

Next week will be the Dancing on Ice 2019 semi-final, with Wes, James, Brian and Saara fighting it out to be in the final three.
