Tom Jones weight loss tips: Delilah singer spills all on his fitness routine and diet plan

Tom Jones made headlines in July last year, after her was forced to cancel a number of gigs due to health reasons. Having made a recovery, in October that year, the 78-year-old is said to have insisted he was back on “top form”. Speaking to The Mirror at the time, The Voice UK coach spilled all on his current health plan – which has seen him take up a new sport. Perhaps surprising to some, the Welsh hitmaker has begun boxing, and also has a personal trainer.

“I’ve got a trainer who comes to see me. A lot of stretching and boxing thrown in,” he told the publication.

Together, the pair do “a couple of rounds in the gym,” Tom explained.

He added: “It’s a good cardiovascular workout.”

So, what does the 78-year-old’s schedule look like when it comes to training?

It seems he tries to go boxing a couple of times each week, but will try hit the gym too.

And, it seems that Tom’s fitness regime could be a good option for those looking to slim.

According to the website Livestrong.com, a 155-pound person can burn around 422 calories per hour by hitting a heavy bag.

Meanwhile, 60 minutes spent sparring in the ring could see them burn around 633 calories.

“I do it [boxing] twice a week,” Tom spilled. “I get in the gym whenever – three times a week usually.

“I try to watch my diet too.”

The singer has chatted about his eating habits in the past, revealing he followed the diet book Syndrome X: The Complete Nutritional Program to Prevent and Reverse Insulin Resistance as part of his weight loss journey.

With the help of the Syndrome X diet, the singer lost two stone and seven pounds in just five months.

“I’d recommend it to anybody. It tells you to get back to what we used to eat when we were hunters and gatherers,” he said on Radio 2 back in 2011.

“Eat anything that’s natural – meat, fish, veg.”

The weight loss of The Voice UK coach will.i.am is also of interest to many people.

The 43-year-old has lost 20 pounds in the past – and he credited a plant-based diet and regulated sleep schedule.
