Rachel Riley Twitter: ‘Don’t let me down’ Countdown star pleads for help ‘sharpish’

Rachel Riley, 33, put out a prompt call for help online and fortunately for the beauty her Twitter followers did not disappoint. In view of her 624,000 followers, the presenter shared a snap of red roses in a vase alongside two small kittens with a caption which read: “I’m having one of those days! (*weeks), (**years). “Need cat and/or dog pics to turn it around – sharpish! Don’t let me down people…”. It appeared this was the only cue her social media followers needed as they inundated the Channel 4 favourite with pictures of their adorable pets.

One user posted a snap of their cat, writing: “Meet Bubbles. S**t at maths, but really warmhearted.”

The blonde bombshell took the opportunity to reply to the funny message and tweeted: “Gorgeous!”

Another person posted a cute picture of their pet cat and said: “Incoming Clem Fandango, presenting her prized paper straw (because she’s very environmentally conscious)”.

Rachel quipped: “Best name ever.”

While a third person shared a snap of their curly-haired cockapoo and said: “Fonzie says hope you have a good evening and hope this cheers u up!”(sic)

To which the former Strictly contestant replied: “Labradoodle? Beautiful boy whoever Fonzie is.”

The post gained over 1,500 likes from her Twitter followers as they continued to flood the star with more photos of their beloved pets.

It comes after it was recently announced the star’s beau Pasha Kovalev will be departing from the BBC series Strictly Come Dancing after eight years on the show.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, the 39-year-old wrote: “After scoring 93 perfect tens, reaching four finals and lifting one Glitterball, it’s time for me to find a new challenge and so I’ve decided to make last year – my final season on Strictly.

“I’ve had eight fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.

“The biggest thanks go to all the members of the public who’ve supported me so much over these years – I look forward to seeing you on the Strictly Pro-Tour this spring, and for many future adventures to come!”

According to The Sun, the maths whizz felt her boyfriend was not being paid enough after being a regular feature for quite some time.

A source told the publication: “Rachel is adamant Pasha is being paid far less than his hours deserve. Strictly has a particularly gruelling schedule and when you weigh that up against his pay packet, she feels it’s not worth it.”

Express.co.uk contacted their representatives at the time of his departure.

Rachel competed in the ballroom competition back in 2013.

Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 2.15pm.
