Joe Sugg, 27, joined Alex Jones, 41, on The One Show last night where the pair spoke with The Greatest Dancer judge Matthew Morrison, 40, who reminisced about his engagement to his now-wife Renee Puente. His proposal included a host of A-list celebrities, with Coldplay performing for the couple and Sir Elton John announcing the news at his White Tie and Tiara Ball in 2013. This prompted the young vlogger to take notes as he joked about popping the question to his girlfriend Dianne Buswell, 29. Alex quizzed: “Elton John… didn’t he announce your engagement?”
To which Matthew replied: “He did, I got engaged before he announced it thankfully.
“But it was at his White Tie and Tiara Ball a while ago and he kinda announced it to the world… to the party, and then the world.
“Chris Martin actually sang a song for us that night so it was just a glorious evening,” he continued.
Joe seemingly appeared impressed by the grand proposal as he quipped: “Set the bar there!”
Alex quickly interjected: “Low key… you and Dianne now, you need to go. You need to aim for Coldplay.”
Matthew added: “No pressure.”
Dianne was not too far from her beau after he posted a snap to his Instagram stories of the couple alongside Alex and Matthew.
The social media star, who appears to be making his transition into television presenting, also posted how “nervous” he was to be fronting the show.
He wrote: “What an experience! Anything live is always quite nerve wracking but that’s all part of the fun and @alexjonesthompson is such a pro and made me feel so at ease.”
Joe continued: “It was also so nice to meet @matthewmorrison and beat @diannebuswell on the dance mat again.
“Thanks for having me @bbctheoneshow, hope I did a good job.”
Alex later reflected about Joe following his appearance and posted the same snap to her own account.
She captioned the photo: “And it’s Friday!!! Thanks @joe_sugg for keeping me company on the sofa tonight and to @_matthew.morrison_ for being a charming guest despite the painful back.
“@diannebuswell you are a dream with the best animal print shirt dress I’ve seen in a long time! Happy weekend.”
