Fortnite season 8 map: Another new location LEAKS, map to get destroyed on release date?

Fortnite season 8 is on the horizon, with the new Battle Pass expected to kick off next week.

Fortnite season 7 has already been confirmed as ending on February 28, which is when the Fortnite season 8 release date could be.

New Fortnite Battle Passes typically start the same day that preceding ones finish, so season 8 could begin not long after season 7 finishes.

And when season 8 of Fortnite starts it’s expected that the Fortnite Battle Royale map will look very different.

In the lead up to Fortnite season 8 major earthquakes have been taking place, creating huge cracks in the Battle Royale map.

Leaks have also suggested that natural disaster such as tornadoes and fires will spawn on the Fortnite map.

It’s led to speculation that a huge, destructive event will happen at the end of Fortnite season 7 and the start of Fortnite season 8.

And theories are claiming that parts – or even the entire – Fortnite Battle Royale map could get destroyed.

If it’s the latter, then maybe the brand new maps that Epic Games have been working on will be released.

In the Fortnite FAQ page Epic Games previously confirmed that they will be adding more maps to Battle Royale.

Answering the question ‘will you add more maps’ in a post online, Epic Games said: “Yes, but not right away.

“Currently, we’ll continue making improvements to our existing map, including adding more points of interest.”

This answer has appeared on the Fortnite FAQ page for the majority of 2018, so maybe the time has come when a new map will finally be launched.

If that’s the case then what could spark the current Fortnite map being destroyed?

It’s possible the rumoured stand off between the ice king and fire king will leave the Fortnite Battle Royale map in ruins.

Or, it’s possible that the Fortnite earthquakes are being caused by a monstrous creature currently hiding deep underground that will soon emerge.

It’s long been rumoured that a Fortnite leviathan creature, and more recently a Fortnite cracken, will spawn on the Battle Royale map.

This creature could be the rumoured boss that Fortnite players will have to join forces to defeat at the start of Fortnite season 8.

Alternatively, the current Fortnite map may still be in place at the start of season 8 – albeit with new locations.

Express.co.uk recently reported that a Sharky Shrubs POI could have leaked in the description for a brand new Fortnite backpack.

And now another new Fortnite map location may have leaked early.

Recent promo material for the Fallen Love Ranger shows the upcoming skin pictured with a new temple-like location in the background.

It’s not Tomato Temple due to its distinct design, so this could be a new area for season 8 that has been pictured early.

Another theory in the fan community is that Wailing Woods could get replaced with a Fortnite jungle at the start of season 8.
