Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley: ‘I’m terrified’ Emmerdale star makes plastic surgery admission

Emmerdale actress Zoe Henry, 45, who plays Rhona Goskirk on the ITV soap, said while she doesn’t like ageing, she will not go under the knife as she wants to be a role model to her and Jeff’s children Violet, 14, and Stan, 10. She said: “Getting older is not great. “I don’t love the ageing process but, that said, I am not prepared to do anything about it in terms of cosmetic surgery, because I’m terrified.” She added to The Mirror: “I have a daughter and a responsibility to her to not starve myself, not inject things into my face.

“I want to be a good role model for her and for my son.

“My most important job is my children. I love this job, I love being an actor and I wouldn’t give it up for anything.”

Zoe went on to say she has temporarily given up alcohol because “it just didn’t make me feel very good”.

She continued: “I am not drinking at the moment and I am enjoying it. Everything feels better – my energy levels are better, I am a better parent.”

The actress first appeared as her character Rhona on the ITV soap for a few episodes in 2001.

She returned in 2010 and has since been at the centre of many controversial storylines.

Zoe’s character will shortly be fronting a storyline centred around the menopause process in which she will suffer with sweats, anxiety and mood swings.

Speaking of the topic, she said: “Even now in 2019, it is a subject that women don’t really talk about.”

Elsewhere, Zoe’s husband Jeff, who plays Cain Dingle, recently referred to himself and Zoe as an “embarrassment” to their children.

The actor joked his son Stan was left red-faced when a fan asked him for a selfie during a trip to Tesco.

Speaking on Loose Women back in October, panelist Jane Moore quizzed Jeff about how his children feel about having two parents in one of Britain’s biggest soaps.

He replied: “They don’t watch it. I think we are like any other parent; we are an embarrassment to them.”

The actor then reflected on an awkward encounter in the supermarket, telling the panelists: “I do remember there was this one time with my son in Tesco… it was quite a few aisles away and they were like ‘Can I have a picture?’

“It does happen occasionally, but this time it just seemed like a really terrible day.”

He then demonstrated his son’s reaction, putting his head into his hands adding: “I looked round and my son was just like that on the trolley. And he always references that day.”

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
