Terrifying moment GIANT snake hangs from telegraph pole and HOISTS prey into sky – VIDEO

The footage, posted to a community Facebook group called ‘Kingscliff Happenings’ on Wednesday, depicts the Australian snake hoisting the dead bird high into the sky and attempting, seemingly unsuccessfully, to devour it. The woman who posted the video, Cathy Gall, identified the bird as a burrawong. She said that the snake eventually managed to drag the bird up on to her roof, where it slowly consumed it.

She wrote: “Such determination from the python to hold on to the currawong.

“Happily eating it now on our roof… nature in your face.”

After being asked why she would possibly allow a giant python to conduct a feast on the roof of her own house, Ms Gall replied that a snake catcher had told her it would be safer to leave the constrictor alone until it had finished its meal.

Within the first 48 hours, the video had received some 52,000 views and more than a thousand shares.

Popular Instagram page, Barstool Sports, shared the video to their army of 6.5million followers.

One person comically commented: “I would soil my pants if snakes this size just roamed our neighbourhood.”

“I now have a fear of snakes.” another claimed.

While someone else asked: “Snakes in the sky… Why are there snakes in the sky?”

“Welcome to Australia!” a fourth quipped.

The terrifying beast is a carpet python, and can grow up to four metres long.

It comes as a petrifying “half snake, half turtle” was discovered in a park in China.
