Rami Malek: Bohemian Rhapsody star’s NAKED scene in the spotlight ahead of Oscars

The acclaimed actor plays Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic and has been cleaning up at awards ceremonies. Including, it seems, one that specifically celebrates nude scenes. And Malek can now add the accolade of Best Buns Behind Bars to his growing collection – but not, of course, for Bohemian Rhapsody.

The actor has been awarded the coveted title at the Manatomy Awards – also referred to as the ‘naked Oscars’.

The awards are designed to hail the best in male nude scenes on TV and the big screen, and this year’s winners – decided by the people at Mr Man – have been revealed by The Sun.

Malek’s honour is shared with Charlie Hunnam for their prison shower scene in the R-rated drama Papillon, which was released in the UK at Christmas and in the US last summer.

It was a biographical drama starring Hunnam as the titular French convict who was imprisoned in 1933 and escaped with the help of an an inmate, Louis Dega (Malek).

Other Manatomy Awards winners this year include Jamie Dornan; winning Best Butt for Fifty Shades Freed.

Chris Pine won Bet Nude Debut for Outlaw King, and Call Me By Your Name won Best Picture.

Malek will, presumably, be much more interested in Sunday’s Oscars.

He is the runaway favourite to win Best Actor, with odds of 1/7 from Ladbrokes – far ahead of closest competitor Christian Bale.

Bohemian Rhapsody is also a contender for Best Picture, with its odds being constantly cut by bookmakers.

The film’s poor response from critics does not seem to have dented its awards momentum, although allegations of sexual abuse against fired director Bryan Singer resulted in it being withdrawn from GLAAD’s recent prizegiving (Singer denies all accusations).

Queen will perform at the Oscars on Sunday night with Adam Lambert, but Malek is not thought to be joining them.

Bohemian Rhapsody is out now on digital download.
