LeBron James explains James Harden ‘sacrifice’ after Lakers beat Rockets

James inspired his Lakers side to a gritty 111-106 victory against the Rockets at the Staples Center.

They were hugely aided by the disqualification of Harden with just 1:24 left on the clock.

Earlier in the match, James was subject of a critical charge call on Harden and a brutal foul from Chris Paul.

But the small forward is willing to take the beatings if it helps his team begin their late playoff push.

“I’m just an all-around basketball player,” LeBron said.

“You can’t give me a position. I’m just a ballplayer.

“Put me on the floor; I’m going to make plays offensively and defensively. I sacrifice my body, sacrifice for my team.”

James has only recently returned from a groin injury which had him sidelined for almost two months.

And he knows as the season reaches the business end his best performances will begin to bare fruits.

“It wasn’t that I needed to reach a different level,” James added.

“It was that I needed to be in that level right now under the circumstances that we’re in.

“Just kickstarting something a little bit earlier than I’ve done in the past.

“I like where I’m at. I will love where I’m at in the next few games.

“I believe we’ll continue to get better and better.

“Tonight was a good step in the right direction.”
