James Bond 25 cast news: Bosses 'want this HUGE star' to join Daniel Craig

The film has faced numerous delays already, and will now be released in April 2020 – almost two months later than previously planned. And with the new additions to the cast yet to be announced, word has emerged via a new report that a certain Academy Award-winning performer, who has already made her mark on both the Marvel and Star Wars universes, is top of the wish-list.

It’s Lupita Nyong’o who is allegedly being courted by James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and Cary Joji Fukunaga, so says the Daily Mail.

Express.co.uk has reached out to Nyong’o’s publicist for comment.

The original report cites an executive as saying when asked about the actress: “How the hell do you know about that?!”

It is also said that previous speculation around Emma Stone – which can be traced back to a report in an Italian publication about the film potentially filming in the country – is false.

Nyong’o won Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars for her role in 2013’s 12 Years A Slave.

She has also played Maz Kanata in the Star Wars universe; popping up in 2015’s The Force Awakens and having a minor role in 2017’s The Last Jedi.

Maz is expected to return in the recently-wrapped Star Wars: Episode IX, due for release at the end of this year.

Nyong’o will be seen in Us in the very near future; the much-hyped new horror from Jordan Peele of Get Out fame.
