Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley: Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk opens up on juggling life with beau

Zoe Henry, 45, shares two children with her Emmerdale actor husband Jeff Hordley, 48. In an interview with Love Sunday Magazine back in 2017, she spoke out about balancing parenthood with their jobs on the ITV soap. “Show me a working parent who doesn’t break down and cry once a week trying not to get things wrong,” she said, revealing her filming schedule sometimes means she misses out on moments with her children. “It doesn’t matter what job you do, there is always a parents’ evening or sports day you might miss and have to think, well I am there for the majority of stuff.

“Jeff and I juggle everything 50/50,” Zoe explained. “We wear a trouser leg each and take it in turns to be good cop, bad coop with the kids.”

Zoe and Jeff are parents to 14-year-old daughter Violet and 10-year-old son Stan.

The couple first met when they were at college together and tied the knot in 2003.

Speaking about the secret to their happy marriage, Zoe told the publication: “We really do make each other laugh and I’ve always looked for that in a partner.

“We talk; it’s okay to say, ‘I don’t like you very much today,’ and we do that often!

“We laugh at how middle aged with are,” she added.

The Emmerdale star, who has played Rhona since 2001, also revealed she finds Jeff’s sex symbol status hilarious.

She joked she likes to remind him about fans’ appreciation for him early in the morning, “when he looks anything but [a sex symbol].”

Last year, Jeff appeared on This Morning to discuss working with his wife, with whom he occasionally shares scenes.

“We’ve done about two scenes together,” he said. “One of which I was kind of flirting with her and she just batted me away.

“It’s almost like life imitated,” he quipped.

In their down time, the couple are keen gardeners and even have their own allotment.

During an interview on Loose Women, he previously spoke about what their children think about them both being in Emmerdale.

“They don’t watch it,” he said.

“I think we’re just like any other parent: we’re an embarrassment to them.”

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
