Meghan Markle & Kate Middleton 'not allowed' to do popular activity – why Zara Tindall can

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, both 37, are widely admired for their style. The pair have their own individual styles, but with so many official outings as royals, both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex are regularly seen wearing clothes by some high-end designers. With the hefty price tags associated with their clothes, some people may be interested to know where they got them from. And, with many of their clothes becoming sell-out items shortly after they wear them, it could be pondered as to whether the designers would donate the items for free in the name of publicity.

However, according to PEOPLE Magazine, this is not the case.

The publication has reported that the royals do not accept designer clothes for free.

What’s more, the senior working royals are said to not be allowed to team up with brands in the form of paid partnerships.

This is a very popular activity for many famous faces and social media influencers across the world – and can prove to be very lucrative, it seems.

Speaking to MailOnline’s Femail, Mischa Joslin, Managing Director of Influencer, PR and Branding agency, Edencancan, said: “Whilst many brands would likely want to work with say Meghan or Kate, they are not allowed to do paid for partnerships.”

However, that’s not to say the same goes for all members of the Royal Family.

Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, who is the cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, has worked as an ambassador for a number of brands in the past.

This includes with the pushchair company iCandy – for a pram created in collaboration with Land Rover.

As part of her partnership with the brand, Zara, 37, and her youngest daughter Lena, now eight months, starred in a campaign video.

The 37-year-old is 17th in line of succession to the British throne, making her less likely to take a leading role in the monarchy in the future – as opposed to Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.

Misha explained: “Zara Tindall provides a unique way for brands to tap into the Royal reputation without the restraints and restrictions that would apply to working with a member who is closer to the throne.”

However, it’s not just her links with the Royal Family which could make Zara such an appealing choice of ambassador for many brands.
