Meghan Markle baby shower ends in DISASTER when guests are left stranded in New York

Meghan Markle had a truly Hollywood style baby shower in New York this week.

The Duchess of Sussex invited the likes of Serena Williams and Amal Clooney to celebrate her pending new arrival.

She rented out a £58,000 suite for the occasion, and flew on a £150,000 private plane.

Meghan’s journey to and from New York for the star studded party is thought to have cost £190,000.

The extremely extravagant affair was not attended by any member of the British Royal Family.

However disaster struck for two of Meghan’s guests when they were stranded in New York.

Her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, 37, and pilates teacher Taryn Toomey were delayed for hours.

The pair were flying back to Los Angeles.

Initially they were delayed for six hours, and eventually the flight was rescheduled for the next day.

The women shared images claiming they were “frustrated” as they sat in First Class waiting for take off.

They enjoyed what looked like a margaritas as they waited for their flight.

Thirty-seven-year-old Abigail Spencer bemoaned the service on her Twitter account.

She wrote: “Boo @united…delayed the flight for 6 hours, got us all to the board the plane; we wait another hour then cancel our flight not because of weather but because you are short staffed & didn’t plan?

“Then have us run to another plane that hasn’t left yet to have us reticket, board again only to hear now that the pilot on this flight might time out too? Really bad @united.”

Meghan Markle’s baby shower New York trip wardrobe cost a third of the average UK salary.

Meghan’s total wardrobe cost for New York was £8,437.77.

So what has the Duchess worn to rack up such a huge cost?

Meghan was most recently seen after her shower, wearing a Courrèges Vintage Haute Couture Black Coat, the likes of which sell for up to £1,689.34 on 1stdibs.com.

Another outfit showed Meghan show of a stylish handbag from UK designer Stella McCartney, which costs £787.08.

Meghan Markle’s letter written by five ‘friends’ for People Magazine caused some shock in recent weeks.

Royal expert Russell Myers told Christine Lampard, standing in for Lorraine Kelly on Lorraine this morning, said: “I understand the palace haven’t been too understanding of the recent controversy, Meghan’s friends getting involved and writing this puff piece in People magazine.”
