Liam Payne, 25, has reportedly been dating British supermodel Naomi Campbell, 48, for the past two months.
And, at tonight’s BRITs 2019, the One Direction band member’s love life was thrust into the spotlight once again, thanks to presenter Jack Whitehall.
As he walked onto the stage with US star Winnie Harlow, 24, to present an award, the comedian introduced the hitmaker as the legendary model’s “current squeeze”.
Jack, 30, said: “Time for our next award and to present it is a supermodel, and supermodel Naomi Campbell’s current squeeze.”
He continued: “His surname’s Payne, which is what he will be in a world of if he crosses her.
“It’s Liam Payne and Winnie Harlow!”
Those watching the BRIT Awards took to Twitter to comment on the awkward moment, with one viewer writing: “They really introduced Liam Payne as Naomi Campbell’s latest squeeze #BRITS #Brits2019.”
Another said: “How awkward must Liam Payne feel right now! What a roast from Jack Whitehall over his relationship with Naomi Campbell #BRITs.”
A third added: “Wait did Whitehall just confirm that Liam Payne and Naomi Campbell are an actual thing?”
“Liam Payne introduced as Naomi Campbell’s new squeeze, I love it #brits,” another commented.
Liam attended the music award ceremony alone this evening, a year after he put on a united front with ex Cheryl.
The couple, who share 18-month-old son Bear together, split six months after the red carpet appearance.
Elsewhere, Liam and Naomi, who have a 23-year age gap, have been spotted on several occasions recently and a source told The Sun they have been seeing each other “for a while”.
Liam is said to be “mad on” Naomi, with the insider claiming to the publication: “He seems head over heels.
“They are definitely an item and have been seeing a lot of each other.
“Liam thinks she’s amazing and beautiful and has said their time together has been mind-blowing,” they added.
“He seems really into her and acting like he can’t believe his luck… He obviously likes a beautiful older woman.”
The pair have also shared flirtatious messages on social media in recent weeks, with Naomi commenting on a topless snap of the Liam which he posted on Instagram: “Beautiful soul,” along with a heart emoji.
He later replied: “Takes one to know one,” adding a kiss face emoji.
Liam also commented on a picture of Naomi calling her “perfection in a person”.
