Hugh Jackman drops BIG tour bombshell amid BRIT Awards performance of The Greatest Showman

The Greatest Showman star was performing at the BRIT Awards ahead of his own jaunt of shows later in 2019. The actor’s rendition opened the ceremony to a hugely positive reception, and speaking beforehand, he said he was “truly honoured” to have been invited. What’s more, he opened up about one very special guest he’ll have on his tour.

He told Capital FM: “I’m really truly honoured to be here.

“You know, I’m an old man so I open up the show and I can still keep my 9.30pm bedtime. It’s perfect.”

He added: “No, honestly, the number’s going to be massive.

“The reception for The Greatest Showman here is like nowhere else in the world, so I kind of see it as a way of me saying thank you to everyone watching on TV or listening or there in the crowd.”

Speaking about his show and potential guests, such as those who sang on The Greatest Showman Re-Imagined, he went on: “By the way I have asked most of them, most of them said no!

“But I’m a big fan of having guests on tour, concerts should feel like something happened that night that couldn’t happen anywhere else.

“So, I don’t know if I should say, but Robbie’s going to join me at one point.”

Yes, it seems Robbie Williams will pop up on a date of the trip.

The tour spans three nights at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, three at the Manchester Arena, three at the Birmingham Resorts World Arena, two at Dublin’s 3Arena and an incredible six shows at London’s O2.

The Dublin dates have already completely sold out.

Last night’s performance came as The Greatest Showman’s album spends its 60th week in the UK charts, and its 59th in the Top 5 alone. It will almost certainly make it 60 at the end of this week.

As part of its incredible chart run, it has spent 28 weeks at No1 – surpassing the likes of even Adele’s 21.
