EastEnders bad boy Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) felt his world come crashing down around him on the BBC soap.
He had previously sent Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) out to Spain to get him out of the picture and to leave his daughter, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) alone.
Of course, he had been in a romantic tryst with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) at the same time so the move was good for all parties.
However, poor loved-up Louise was desperate to get her man back and tried to get Phil to get in touch with him.
Going to desperate lengths, she told her dad she was pregnant and needed to speak to the baby daddy immediately to tell him the happy news.
Expectedly, Phil went off the rails and threatened to kill the youngster for defiling his daughter.
But as the row exploded, his phone pinged and he had been sent a snap of Keanu beaten to a pulp and decidedly near death.
And at the same time, his mum, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) arrived and saw the horrific image.
Phil seemed to fall to earth and insisted he would go out to Spain to get the kid back, but many were concerned he would be facing death himself.
Louise went to talk to her dad to smooth things out and explained to him why she lied about the pregnancy, saying: “You never listen, Dad. It’s never now, it’s always later or, ‘Give me a minute’.”
Phil apologised for his reaction and insists he would go to Spain to sort it out.
But Sharon was beside herself worrying, fearing she would lose not one but two of her lovers.
She told Phil: “I just want the man I love back safely.”
But who is that? Was she talking about Phil or Keanu?
And will they both return to Walford safe and sound?
No-one but Karen knows about Sharon and Keanu’s sordid affair and she is keeping quiet for the sake of her boy.
She told Sharon: “The only reason I haven’t told Phil what you’ve been up to is to get my boy back.
“If he doesn’t come home, you won’t just have to deal with that bald psycho.”
Will Keanu return or will more horror lie in wait for the Mitchell family?
