Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Cheryl to sign up for series as Katya Jones drops MAJOR hint?

Cheryl is being tipped to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing 2019 following her performance with the show’s professional dancers on last week’s episode of The Greatest Dancer.

The 35-year-old former X Factor judge is said to have asked BBC’s Katya Jones for help with her dancing on the day of their performance.

“Cheryl wanted to know everything,” the 29-year-old ballroom star spilled.

“She was saying to me, ‘Katya show me how to move my hips, show me your arm movements, what do I do?”

Speaking to The Daily Star, she continued “Then she was practising. She was loving it and she was really good.”

Teasing the possibility of Cheryl joining this year’s series, she added: “We do like a pop star on Strictly. So you never know, she could be on the next series.”

Following their performance last Saturday, Katya took to social media to gush about the singer’s “amazing” dance moves.

On her Instagram account, she wrote: “Wasn’t Cheryl amazing last night smashing out those ChaChaCha moves!

“I tell you what – she wouldn’t stop practicing and always asked for tips as she wanted to make it perfect!

“And she did! @cherylofficial so lovely to work with you!”

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas previously revealed she would like to see the former Girls Aloud songstress slip into some sequins and a pair of stilettos.

In an interview with The Sun, the 58-year-old Latin champion was asked who she would like to see appear on the show.

“There’s a few names bouncing around but I’m open to anybody that goes on,” she told the publication.

“I would like to see Cheryl Cole on it. You know, I think she would make a great contestant.”

Cheryl, who shares one-year-old son Bear with ex Liam Payne, is currently starring on The Greatest Dancer alongside Matthew Morrison and Oti Mabuse.

The trio will go head-to-head this weekend for a chance to see one of their acts crowned the winner of the first series.

Representing Matthew, 40, in the final are James and Oliver from Hertfordshire, while Oti, 28, has dance group KLA and solo performer Ellie.

Meanwhile, Cheryl is hoping contemporary lyrical duo Harry and Eleiyah will be victorious.

The winner will receive a whopping £50,000 prize and the chance to perform as a guest on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Greatest Dancer final to air on BBC One this Saturday.
