Pokemon Go Clamperl Field Research Day update and evolution news

Pokemon Go Trainers will have the chance very soon to conduct Limited Research on the game’s latest Pocket Monster.

Clamperl and its evolution Huntail and Gorebyss are all becoming readily available later this week.

However, it’s unclear just how the evolution mechanics will work, and if special items will be needed to evolve Clamperl to all its forms.

The new Research Day is being held on February 23 and will give players the chance to complete new Field Research tasks.

Other Water-type Pokemon will also be popping up during the Research event, which will only run for a day.

The event will kick off on Saturday, February 23 at around 10am in the morning in the UK.

However, it appears that Niantic is only looking to time when Trainers can pick up the Research, rather than making them complete it all during the event.

“Professor Willow is looking to conduct Limited Research on the Water-type Pokémon Clamperl. Spin the Photo Disc at nearby PokéStops to obtain Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with this tough-shelled Bivalve Pokémon,” a message from Niantic reads.

“While you’re completing research, keep an eye out for other Water-type Pokémon, such as Krabby and Wailmer.

“Clamperl might clam up during Limited Research, so exploring is key! As long as you’ve collected the Limited Research during the event window, you can complete it at any time.

“Don’t forget—you’ll need to venture onward to many PokéStops in order to get new Field Research tasks and encounter as many Clamperl as possible.”

The Research Day will last around three hours and will allow players to grab new Research from whatever PokeStops they visit.

Pokemon Go Trainers are also expecting the release of Smeargle in the coming days and probably before the end of the month.

It’s expected to be part of some kind of Go Snapshot event, which will be hosted by Niantic in February.
