The production behind Bond 25 has not been smooth sailing. From the exit of its director Danny Boyle to changes over the script, Bond 25 has been pushed back not once but twice. With what feels like constant changes, every new bit of information about Bond 25 leads to more speculation.
Is Bond 25 getting a new script?
Yes, the latest news surrounding Bond 25 is a new scriptwriter is reportedly on board.
According to The Playlist, MGM, the studio behind James Bond, has brought on the Bourne Ultimatum screenwriter, Scott Z Burns.
Burns has also penned the wildly successful Contagion and the upcoming ensemble drama The Laundromat.
He was also brought on to help salvage the likes of Ocean’s 12 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Bond scriptwriting stalwarts Neal Purvis and Robert Wade had written a screenplay.
But it is now claimed that Burns could stand to receive first billing. Express.co.uk has reached out to his publicist for confirmation.
Is there a new release date for Bond 25?
Yes. Shortly before the new screenwriter announcement, Bond 25 was pushed back.
Bond 25’s initial release was set for February 14, 2020.
However, it has now been pushed back by two months to April 8, 2020, instead.

This comes after a rash of other delays and hurdles.
Bond 25 was initially directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle and scheduled for a November 8, 2019 release date.
Boyle had also brought on his regular screenwriter collaborator John Hodge.
Hodge was ultimately replaced by Purvis and Wade, who have now been replaced themselves.

When Boyle left and was replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the release date was pushed to 2020.
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are all reprising their roles.
Bond 25 will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007, with odds for who will replace him ever-changing.
Richard Madden, Tom Hiddleston and James Norton among the frontrunners, with Cillian Murphy also gaining traction.
James Bond 25 is out in cinemas on April 8, 2020.
