Galaxy S9 prices SLASHED but this Samsung phone is about to look massively inferior

Galaxy S9 debuted last year and certainly represented a more iterative upgrade from the Galaxy S8.

That is because the device retained largely the same design but came with faster internal components and a more capable camera system.

Although the Galaxy S9 and S9+ launched for prices of £739 and £869 respectively, Samsung has now lowered the cost of each substantially.

Now, the standard Galaxy S9 can be obtained for £549 while the larger S9+ is being sold for £649.

Additionally, Samsung is also giving away a free wireless charger with the product in an effort to make it more appealing.

But while the Galaxy S9 may be incredibly appealing for those wanting to upgrade their smartphone at a reduced cost, today the product is set to look massively inferior thanks to the debut of the Galaxy S10.

Unlike the Galaxy S9, the S10 is expected to represent a substantial overhaul of the product line rather than an iterative improvement.

Galaxy S10 has been said to come in at least three models.

In addition to standard and “+” variants of the hardware, it is also anticipated a cheaper variety of the product will debut that could be called the Galaxy S10e.

It is presumed this version of the handset will sacrifice some premium features in exchange for a more premium price tag.

Bloomberg has claimed the cheaper S10 will not come with a signature Samsung curved display.

Instead it is expected this handset will come with a flat OLED panel.

However, all three models of the Galaxy S10 have been rumoured to come with all-screen designs with incredibly small bezels.

But, each has been speculated to come with a hole inside its display to accommodate for each’s front-facing camera system.

Such a design choice would be similar to that already touted by the Huawei Nova 4 and Honor View 20.

Finally, the Galaxy S10 is expected to come with an upgraded camera system, turbocharged internals and new features such as reverse wireless charging.

The latter made its debut in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro last year and should allow the S10 to charge other devices that are placed on its rear.

While many details about the flagship have been discussed in rumours and leaks, it is worth noting none of them have been officially confirmed by Samsung.

However, it is expected all details about the S10 will be revealed by the South Korean OEM later today.

Express.co.uk will be covering proceedings live.
